Tribute to Michael Helgens

January 24, 1983 – August 26, 2024

Honoring and celebrating a life well lived. Michael R Helgens passed away on August 26, 2024, at the age of 41, following a sudden illness in Dallas, Texas.

Michael was known for his jovial, warm, and welcoming spirit. Raised in Iowa, he spent the final four years of his life in Texas. Above all, Michael cherished his two dogs, Piper and Londo, who brought him immense joy.
He had a deep love for musicals, traveling, sharing time with friends, and savoring fine cigars and whiskey. Adventure was part of who he was—whether through travel or ghost hunting alongside his closest friends.
Michael’s creativity shone brightly in his work. He was deeply involved with The Watson Files at Strobie Studios, working with producer Scott Strosahl and portraying Spencer Holmes, the grandson of Sherlock Holmes. Hegreatly enjoyed collaborating with Greg Kilburger as Watson and Steve Rimpici as Officer Weathers.

A gifted storyteller, Michael wrote and produced films, taking special pride in his award-winning film Morris. He also authored two books in the Legend of Lochlinlea series as well as Inspiration Point, all available on Amazon. His love for storytelling extended to his Halloween tales, which he narrated himself—his voice perfectly suited for bringing those stories to life.

Michael, you were a powerful light that touched many lives, so we say to you, “So long for now, we will meet again someday”, and that will be an amazing day for sure.
